The Monteverdi to Mozart Project, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, has documented Invisible Dances and Mozart's only ballet, Les Petits Riens. The ballets are to be promoted as historical repertoire for mainstream dance companies in the professional and university fields with the aim to include these works in their own repertoire much as a symphony orchestra season includes works of Bach and Mozart alongside later and contemporary composers. Plans for a Monteverdi ballet in 2008 are in the works but we need support from you to build the costumes.

Battlefields and Ballrooms creates performance and educational programs for historical sites. Our first performance for the re-opening of Federal Hall in NYC October, 2006 marked the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Federal Hall and the Conservancy of National Parks of New York Harbor as well as a new presence for the NYBDC in lower Manhattan. Museums are under funded for live historical performances and we need your support to close the gap.

The Historical Dance Summer Workshop held annually at Goucher College is a weekend intensive exploration of ball and country dances from the Renaissance to the modern times, as well as a professional studies week for choreographers, dancers and teachers. With your support we would be able to offer scholarships to deserving students.

Points of Departure, a new project of the NYBDC, supports workshops, lectures and performances focused on new work based on historical dance. We would like to present a biannual showcase of works in process by emerging choreographers.  The event would include a discussion on the creative process used by each presenting choreographer.
