Sarah
Edgar received a B.F.A. in dance from Ohio State University in 2000,
and joined the New York Baroque Dance Company soon thereafter. With
the NYBDC, she has reconstructed a number of period choreographies
as well as created new works. Her “Scaramouche” was shown
at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church and at the Handel Festival
in Goettingen, Germany. Independently, her modern/baroque dance confections
have been shown at the Joyce SoHo as part of the Performance Mix Festival,
at The Flea Theater in the Dance Conversations series, and at One
Arm Red, WAX, and The Bridge for Dance. In the summer of 2004, Ms.
Edgar was the co-curator, with Linsey Lindberg, of One Arm Red’s
Modern Burlesque series. Her full-length show, Courtesan, premiered
at Soundance in Williamsburg in May of 2005. |
