Peter H. Brown, Vice President/ Treasurer, was born in New York City and, with the exception of a two-year period spent in Chicago and a ten-year period spent as the General and Artistic Director of Anchorage Opera, he has been a resident of the Big Apple. He attended the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and Harvard University, where he received his B.A. in English Literature.

Brown started his theatrical career in the corps de ballet of the Philadelphia Lyric Opera (where he permitted the likes of Joan Sutherland, Renata Tibaldi and Nicolai Ghiaurov to share the stage with him). He soon moved into management. He has worked as a manager for dance, theatre and other performing arts companies, including Chicago Ballet and the Sydney (Australia) Dance Company. In the late 80’s he was General Manager of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and produced its annual season at New York’s historic City Center Theater, which, at one time, he had managed. He was General Director of Anchorage Opera from 1994-2003.

As a consultant in arts management and public relations, he has worked with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Russia’s Stars of the Bolshoi Ballet, and with Miami Opera, where he produced the Seventh World Wide Madam Butterfly Singing Competition.
